All data in MLP, including data from LinkedIn, is updated overnight. e.g. Today’s MLP data (3rd March) will reflect all delivery from the campaign start date through yesterday (Start - 2nd March).
Does the ML Platform support all LinkedIn Ad formats?
You can use any ad format in LinkedIn, however MLP currently supports reporting on impressions, clicks, likes, comments, and shares, so functions best with Sponsored Content campaigns.

To edit your selections, revisit Manage Accounts at anytime.
How do I enable a new LinkedIn Ad Account?
If you are given access to a new LinkedIn Ad Account and you have previously customized your LinkedIn Ad Account settings in ML Platform, you will need to select the new LinkedIn account via Manage Accounts.
Head to Manage Integrations > LinkedIn > Manage Accounts and update your selections.
Matched Audiences
How do I send an audience to LinkedIn?
Follow the steps here on how to target ML audiences on LinkedIn.
What is the minimum number of accounts that should be included in an ML Audience for LinkedIn?
The minimum is ~200 accounts, however this can vary based on the strategy and size of the accounts targeted. For example, there will be significantly more reach for a large account such as Google vs a company with 5-10 employees.
The recommended approach is to work with your ML Team to determine the appropriate strategy and audience size. LinkedIn campaigns require a minimum of 10k members within an audience to launch a campaign.
How often should I refresh my target account list?
We recommend refreshing your target account list on a regular cadence, defined with your ML Team based on overall campaign objectives. Madison Logic recommends a minimum refresh rate of Monthly, however clients targeting certain audiences that want to consistently reach new in-market accounts outside of their original list may find incremental benefit to refreshing these account lists more often.
Changes to your ML target account list sync automatically to LinkedIn.
How often does my audience sync to LinkedIn?
Throughout the duration of your ML Program, target account list changes will automatically sync every 72 hours.
Can I create multiple LinkedIn campaigns with one ML Matched Audience?
Yes, you can create multiple LinkedIn campaigns with a single ML audience. Keep in mind that audience updates will stop syncing once the ML program has ended.
Reporting for all campaigns created using an ML matched audience will be combined and shown in the corresponding ML program.
How do I know if the audience is syncing to LinkedIn?
Within the Matched Audiences page in ML Platform, you will see the LinkedIn status for every audience that is enabled for LinkedIn syncing. See below for an outline of statuses:
What do the LinkedIn Statuses mean?
Blank: Audience has not yet been sent to LinkedIn.
Building: Audience is building in LinkedIn, this process can take up to 48hrs.
Ready: Audience has built and is ready to target in LinkedIn.
Archived: Audience has not been used or updated for the last 90 days. More info from LinkedIn here.
Why has my audience stopped syncing?
ML will stop sending audience updates once the Madison Logic program has ended. In some cases, ML may switch off syncing for your audience so no further updates are sent.
Metrics in ML.Platform
Why are the LinkedIn metrics for my program higher than the overall account level engagement?
As a result of LinkedIn’s Member Privacy Policy, when we aggregate account level engagement to show LinkedIn performance across all target accounts for the program, we lose any engagement metrics under 3. Across all target accounts these metrics add up, and result in missing LinkedIn data when evaluating overall campaign performance.
To provide a full picture of LinkedIn performance by creative for your program, we report on all LinkedIn delivery for the program in ML Platform. At the account level, ML provides granular insights by account and creative for all engagements above the reporting minimum as per LinkedIn’s Member Privacy Policy.
As a result, there will be a discrepancy between the total LinkedIn impressions by account when compared with the overall LinkedIn impressions for the program.
You can find more details from LinkedIn on the reporting impact of their Member Privacy Policy here.
Are leads generated by LinkedIn reported on in the ML Platform?
Leads generated by LinkedIn are not currently reported on in the ML Platform. The leads in the platform have been generated by Madison Logic via content syndication.
Does the exposure time include LinkedIn?
No, exposure time in MLP is for display advertising only and does not include LinkedIn.
Do LinkedIn ‘Likes’ include all ‘Reactions’?
No, ‘Likes’ from LinkedIn are a count of ‘Likes’ from sponsored updates only.
What type of LinkedIn Clicks are reported on in MLP?
LinkedIn clicks in MLP represent all chargeable clicks (for example, clicks to view the landing page or company page). You can find more information on chargeable clicks on LinkedIn’s Help center here.
If an agency wants to run campaigns on behalf of their clients (i.e. publishing rights on their clients' accounts), would we be able to show the performance of those campaign in ML Platform?
Yes, we would be able to pull those data points into ML Platform and they would show up in campaigns that are properly mapped prior to the start of the campaign cycles as long as the agency has creative manager role or higher on their client’s accounts.
