Eloqua Installation Guide - Lead Delivery (REST API)

Using Eloqua’s REST APIs, customers can easily integrate their Eloqua instance with the Madison Logic Platform to securely transfer lead records. The integration supports Eloqua’s contact and custom data objects. Included below are the steps to set up and test the Eloqua integration.

Prerequisites

  • Eloqua User Access

    • Users must have Advanced Users - Marketing Security Group access. More information on Eloqua Security Groups can be found here

  • Eloqua Data Objects

    • Madison Logic can send lead records to Eloqua's Contact Object or Custom Data Object (CDO). If the integration is using a CDO, please provide the CDO Display Name to your Madison Logic representative

Installation Guide

In order to successfully connect Madison Logic’s lead delivery system to your Eloqua instance and ensure data is flowing properly to your Contacts/Custom Objects, please follow the steps below:

  1. Authenticate Eloqua with the Madison Logic Platform

  2. Provide the fields Madison Logic should map and send data to

    1. Go to Contacts and search for a term



    2. Select the contact, and click on Field Details> All Contact Fields



    3. Provide Madison Logic the name of the fields the contact data should be mapped to

  3. Provide dropdown values

    1. For all the fields that have drop-down values, provide the values for each option available

 

Testing

To test the integration, Madison Logic will send over a series of test leads. Depending on the integration settings, these leads will be sent to Eloqua’s Contacts or Custom Data Object. Included below are the steps to ensure the test leads were sent over properly

Contacts Objects

  • Using the Navigation Bar, drill down to Contacts

    •  

  • Search for the test lead’s email address

  • Confirm the lead exists and the field level data is comping through as expected

Custom Objects

  • Using the Navigation Bar, drill down to Custom Objects

    •  

  • Select the Custom Object used to configure the integration

    •  

  • Click on “View Custom Objects Record”

    •  

  • Sort by Created Date and select the most recent records that were delivered

    •  

  • Ensure that the required fields were properly delivered and displayed
