Behavioral Targeting & Opting Out
Online behavioral advertising (aka "OBA") describes a broad set of activities Madison Logic engages in to collect information about business professionals' activity (like webpages they visit) and use it to show ads or content we believe to be more relevant to them. Madison Logic uses a variety of tools to collect information about business professionals' browsing activity. We typically use cookies, which are small files stored on your computer when you visit a new website, and Mobile Device IDs. We use these files to help determine interests based on the pages visited, content viewed and other actions they take online.
If a business professional opts-out of online behavioral advertising it prevents Madison Logic from using the information we collect to serve targeted ads or personalized content.
Madison Logic is a member of the Network Advertising Initiative and TRUSTe and adheres to best practices provided by each entity. Â Via our TRUSTe membership, business professionals can opt-out of specific ads from clients via the YourAdChoices icon which may be present when Madison Logic serves display advertising.
It is important to understand the following about opt-outs:
Opt-Outs Do Not Block Ads
If someone opts-out they will continue to see online ads and may even see online ads. Remember, opt-outs do not stop companies from showing you ads, they only stop companies from showing you targeted ads.
Opt-Outs Do Not Prevent Data Collection
Madison Logic can continue to collect data about business professionals' browsing activity after they have opted-out – the opt-out only prevents Madison Logic from using this data to serve targeted ads or personalized content.
Opt-Outs Can Be Accidently Erased
Opt-outs are recorded using cookies so if someone erases their cookies they will erase their opt-outs.
