How does account matching work?

Madison Logic uses the name of an account and the domain of an account as the key when matching business professionals to target with your media program.  The name of an account is quite straight-forward.  If you would like to target Coca-Cola, for example, the name of the account may be Coca-Cola, or Coke, or Coca Cola Inc.  Our database stores account name aliases to ensure proper matching regardless of how you reference the account within your own CRM system.

The domain of an account looks at both the website URL and the email address domain of contacts associated to an account.  For example, if you would like to target Coca-Cola we may look for any of the following website domains: coke.com, or coca-cola.com.

When we identify an account based off of a contact we look at their email address such as bob@coca-cola.com. Madison Logic will extract the domain from the email address which is used for account matching.  This process occurs during account selection when you build a program and does not store the individual contact's email address.  Rather, we identify the domain associated to a contact and only use that portion of the email for account matching.
